First Week of Season 2, and some info from the EU finals

First of all, sorry for the lack of updates, i wanted to wait until i had done some arena in the new season.

2v2. I joined my good friend Blackdown's 2v2 team called Body Attak(dont laugh at the spelling error, Attack was taken :P) Seeing as my mate Mahalik is going to migrate away to Tarren mill, i wanted to practise a bit with Blackdown first. Now firstly i LOVE the Mage/Rogue team, i feel we dont have any hard counters, in the same way War/Pala counters Rogue/Rogue, and the same way Spriest/Lock counters War/Pala. We got some hard matchups but nothing we cannot handle with some smart play. Now we only played 6 matches, due to the fact that i got to get up at 5:45 for work and the queues are horribly long. We lost one to Druid/Rogue, i blame that on the fact it was kind of laggy and Blackdown's Vanish bugged out, but hey enough excuses :P I belive we made some mistakes in our play, me included and that costed us the match. The rest we won, but sadly we never met any good opponents, like this Frost mage/Priest, were the mage didnt even iceblock the sap, or tried to use his pvp trinket on it. However i still believe 100% that we can push our team to 2000+ with alot of practise, both of us are extremely well geared and ready to start on season 2 for real.Oh yea, wanna send out a cheers to Nimra and Szwok for making top10 in the battlegroup, awesome job guys, just watch out for when we get up there too :P

5v5. We had alot of fun tonight playing with the 4dps setup, We also had the "pleasure" of meeting our counter team, 3 healers 2 dps, 2 Wars/Pala/Priest/Shaman. We beat them in the first match when we met them in Ruins of Lordaeron, but later lost 2 times in a row after meeting them in Blades Edge, i believe the extra room we had for kiting in Lordaeron really helped the first match, also they werent really focusing effectively on one of us, so we could easily outlast their dps while CCing the healers and picking them down one by one. The later 2 matches however.... didn't go so well. They effectively downed our warlock and rogue pretty fast, while we only had the priest down. They seemed very well geared, and very exprienced though, so i am 100% sure we can beat that kind of setup once we get better ourselfes. Like with my 2v2 team i really believe we can push it to 2000+ rating with our setup, all our players are really good, and we all want to get a high rating, we finished last season with a rating of 1700, and we hadn't had that much practise at that point. But then again, thats just my arrogant self talking as always :)

EU Finals:
Ill update on those tomorrow, its bed time for me now :)

Update on the mage s2 set, and new info on Blizzcon!

To start it off i'd like to say: OMFGWTFBBQ! There, said it now, apparently Starcraft 2 will be playable at Blizzcon!, directly copy pasted from www.blizzard.com:

Visitors to BlizzCon 2007 will be treated to the first-ever public hands-on with StarCraft II. Demo stations will be set up at the convention, and attendees can sample the new units and gameplay elements for themselves in multiplayer battles. We’re excited to offer this exclusive opportunity to our players, and look forward to seeing you at BlizzCon.

I've got a funny feeling some people who previously werent thinking about going might be interested now, just sad the tickets are sold out! Though would'nt surprise me if some "ticket sharks"(danish word) got alot for sale on ebay for HUGE prices, happy im not going :)

As if that wasn't good enough news, guess what! Whatever went wrong when setting up the stats for the Season 2 mage set has been identified! Im sure alot of mages will be happy now(me included) though we still dont know how huge the update is, one thing is for sure though, depending on how huge the update is, i still dont know if i want to go 2 pieces s1/s2 for a double set bonus, seeing as i very rarely take focus fire when playing a frostmage on a 4dps zerg team, stacking resilience to the max just feels kinda boring. Link: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=110527331&sid=1

Ive been thinking about dumping Jewelcrafting and leveling Engineering once AGAIN, though this time ill bring it up to 350 for the Destruction Holo-gogs http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32494. id rather be running around with 850 dmg 9500 hp and 250 resilience if im not taking focus fire, instead of gimping my offensive stats for something that very very rarely happens.

This is also why im in a huge dilemma on picking up the new arena staff, or the dagger and the offhand, id be happy if anyone has some tips to make my decision a bit easier.

Got a few pictures too this time around, the other day i asked everyone why the guild chat suddenly had the subjet: Penis, check out the replies i got!

The other one is quiet old, and its something about Resto shamans dps :)

Sucks to be a shaman! :P

Oh yea, Aloran, im still up for doing that Analysis on shamans in arena, id be happy to do it, but i want to be sure you really want it, since i dont want to start typing a wall of text that no one wants to read :P

5v5 Tournament EU finals

So a friend wrote to me on msn a couple of days ago if i were thinking about going, to be honest, i didn't even know where the finals were going to be held.
Its in Hamburg which isnt far away from where i live, so it seems ill be going to watch it this saturday! :D

Im really looking forward to it, ill see if i can borrow my dads camera(phone cams suck) and take some pics from the event :D

Id love to do a review of the event and the matches that are going to be played, though i have this natural handicap called slack, but we'll see :P

Check out which teams that will be participating for the event:

I watched the US finals streamed on www.epilepticgaming.com and i must say, it was alot of fun to watch, going there live being able to maybe talk a bit to people who share the same interests as me would be nothing less but awesome! :D

Looking forward alot to it, so i just hope my friend doesn't back out on me ^^

The start of something big!

Or atleast i certinaly hope so. I've been thinking about making my own blog for a long time, especially after reading Mings and Radikals so finally i did it :)

im gonna focus on talking about pvp, and my in-future(hopefully) pvp movies, ofc ill throw in some Screenshots of the cracy guild chat we have going on quiet often to many peoples amusement :)

So! to start it all off, id like to talk a little about this evenings arena matches.
I finally got back into my 5v5 arena team with some guildies, i got kicked at first due to heavy inactivity, but now they accepted me again. One of the best things about it, is that when i play we run a 4dps zerg team, Double Frost Mage(me and Szwok), Mutilate Rogue(Kirosta), SL/Affli Warlock(Nimra) Holy Pala(Dier) we also got Karma a warrior that Szwok owns, and a Resto Shaman(Krexxor), although Krexxor is an awesome healer and a very good player, i wanna focus on the class setup i play in myself. Why is this so good ? Personally i feel the coordination needed for such a team to be succesfull is very high, others might not agree with me, and hey so far i havn't done anymore than tops 50 5v5 arena matches in total! Also the fact that ive always been a dps freak, i like big numbers, however tonight when we played i felt myself wanting to CS/poly that healer more and more, even though i knew my teammates were counting on me to dps whatever target we picked as the first one to fall, still though we managed to get a 6-4 score with me on the team and we ended at 1743 rating(not 100% sure on that)

About the first team we met was a triple healer team, shaman, warrior, priest, pala, mage. at that point i had a full fire spec, and i just didnt feel good about it. I love fire, ALOT but mostly for BGs and pve, when i play arena i prefer full frost by a HUGE margin, the control and surprisingly high burst you get with a WE out is very high.
We lost the first match due to simply being worn down by 3 healers and their MS warrior, we didnt quiet have the coordination yet to beat such a team, though i firmly belive that with practise such a team will fall, to us without any problem whatsoever :).

After that we mostly met 3dps, 2healer teams. we even met a team from our own server! double MS war, Sl lock, holy pala and resto druid. we lost the first match due to not being good enough a CCing their healers while wearing down one of their warriors. After a good match the other team was apparently also queueing(is that even a word?) from Orgrimmar, we said GG, and hoped we met them again, we then inspected them a bit afterwards and noticed their paladin was in part cloth gear, we saw this as an opportunity to put ALL our dps on him the second the fight started, this worked pretty well as once his bubble was down he went down extremely fast with the dps from our rogue, then fell the warlock, then their druid and in the end their 2 warriors :) Though once that happened and we said GG once more all we got from them was "yeye", hurray for good sportsmanship! -.-''

The later matches once again proved we had alot to learn about coordination and good CC, i noticed our rogue telling me on TS that he doesnt like going on a warrior, since even if the warrior aint really focusing his attacks on him, hes still gonna take alot of damage. Cheers for the heads up mate, its something we gotta remember in our later matches! ;)

Once we reached the 10 games our shaman asked when it was his time to play a bit, i decided to let him take my spot, since our other mage was our only way to communicate with our pala(theyre a couple and live under the same roof, though only one has a microphone and uses TS) i told them they should try with Szwoks warrior, karma, and run War/rogue/lock/shaman/pala, they agreed it would be good practise so the shaman got invited, the warrior logged on and they had a few matches, our score ended 10-11, with about 30 less rating than when i left. Now i dont blame this on the fact that i carried our entire team when i was there, i simply dont feel that a war/rogue/lock/shaman/pala was a good team considering the ones we met before, however i felt that the warrior also deserved his points and hoped that 2 healers and a warrior could give us a bit more lasting power.

The evening ended good however, and tomorrow ill be able to pick up the Season 2 arena chest and the new General's Dreadweave boots, this should make me hit 10k hp unbuffed, and give me a chance to focus more on damage and resilience!
